Welcome to my blog. I was trying very hard to find the best possible way for starting my new adventure (writing this blog), but having a mind scattered between the past and the future (and I guess present as something in between), I decided to dig up an old image, made in 2009, as a result of collaboration with my students. At that time, I was still teaching at Accademia Italiana Skopje, covering group of subjects both from design of contemporary collections and #history and #theory of #costume and #fashion. I was also an academic manager of this institution, that gave me the opportunity to have a better overview of the curriculum, but also to make some joint projects that implemented the knowledge acquired in different courses. So, when we had to do the exercises for visual communication, I decided to work with one group of students on recreating costumes inspired by few periods/styles and then with the entire group of fashion design student to organize photo shoot and to simulate the working process on visuals for the exhibition of historical costumes. It was fun, the students learned many new things working on this project.

The featured dress was made of embroidered taffeta. It belongs to the typology known as plis Watteau, its sleeves are en pagode, and the stomacher (pièce d'estomac) was made of silk embellished with embroidery. The costumes were executed by Olgica Dojchinoska Momirovska with assistance of Nikola Karakashov and on the set Milena Kuzmanovska was in charge for the hair and makeup and the model was Miljana Atanasova. The photo and editing was done by me. The entire undertaking was realized with a limited budget, but with great passion.

All modesty aside, locally, this was a pioneering project both in terms of teaching history of costume and history of fashion and making historically inspired costumes and their presentation.

Speaking of the past, I have recently stumbled upon an old interview I gave for the Wannabe Magazine (2013, Serbian language). In a relaxed conversation with the lady journalist I had a possibility and space to share my thoughts on the importance of education in the fields of history of costume and history of fashion.
